Launch Aga Khan Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for Spring Cycle 2022

AKEB Pakistan is pleased to share that the Aga Khan Undergraduate Scholarship Programme – AK-USP for Spring Cycle 2022 is launching today. Due to Covid19, we are unable to launch this scholarship through the Jamatkhana announcement. This merit-cum-need Scholarship Programme is to support those meritorious students of the Jamat who wish to pursue their undergraduate studies from one of the top higher education institutions in Pakistan recognized for the AK-USP. The Scholarship Programme is currently administered by AKEB,P under the guidelines provided by the Scholarship Advisory Committee (SAC) headed by Prince Amyn Muhammad.

We will take this opportunity to emphasize a few important points and revise the procedure regarding the scholarship programme: 

Eligibility:

• Applicants with a minimum 65% each in SSC (or equivalent) and HSC (or equivalent) and cumulative 135% in both are eligible to apply;

• Applicants who have obtained confirmed admission in our approved list of institutions between October 16, 2021 to April 15, 2022.

• AK-USP is only for Ismaili students.

Application Request Form Procedure:

• All correspondence between the candidates and AKEB,P will be through email only.

• All the interested candidates are required to send a request for a pre-application form by email to cas@akesp.org. 

• For verification of candidates belonging to the Ismaili Community, we will share candidates' details with their respective REBs / LEBs. 

• After determining the eligibility of the applicants through the information provided on the pre-application, only the eligible candidates will be provided a formal application form through email.

Award: 

• AK-USP provides financial assistance on merit-cum-need basis. Students are selected on a range of criteria and the past academic record of the student is just one assessment factor.

• AK-USP is an avenue of last resort and also a source for partial funding. Therefore, applicants must explore all avenues of funding before applying for the AK-USP. Applying for the scholarship programme does not guarantee a scholarship.

Deadline: 

• The deadline for submitting the application request form to us is April 18, 2022.

• Eligible candidates that received the formal application form through email and they must submit the form along with the required documents to us by April 25, 2022. 

LEB / REB Verification Required:

• For verification of candidates belonging to the Ismaili Community, we will share candidates' details with their respective REBs / LEBs. After receiving confirmation from REB / LEBs, we will process candidates' applications further.

Important Information:

• LEBs is requested to please inform all students that the Application Request Form and as well as the Application form will be sent via email to eligible applicants. 

• Ineligible applicants will be informed through email.

• Applicant must have an email account. All communication will be sent through an email.

We are attaching herewith the Information Booklet, WhatsApp poster, and Marketing poster. You are requested to disseminate the scholarship material to respective LEBs and request them to market this scholarship through their respective portal and WhatsApp group, so all eligible candidates can apply for this scholarship.
